Providing a quantum leap in climate change

Climate and sustainability efforts are confined to local and or regional models due to the sheer complexity and coordination needed to optimize sustainability efforts on a global scale. For this reason, sustainability efforts are a prime candidate for Ingenii to support in the adoption of quantum computation.

Case Study

Solving for complexity as it relates to sustainability.

Classical Problem: The complexity and sheer volume of parameters make it impossible to model the impact climate & sustainability efforts on a global scale.

Method:

  • Map the TerraNexum quantum annealing optimization model into Azure

  • Design the quantum circuit and implement the Python code for it using Qiskit

  • Demonstrate that the quantum algorithm can scale with additional cities & regions

  • Integrate the quantum algorithm into Python data analytics library

TerraNexum meets Ingenii: TerraNexum developed a quantum annealing optimization model that they are working to scale up to a global view. They joined Ingenii to standardize Azure data infrastructure and take advantage of turnkey quantum data engineering automation and tooling.

Nature isn’t classical, dammit, and if you want to make a simulation of nature, you’d better make it quantum mechanical.”
